Dialysis technicians, also known as hemodialysis specialists, are medical professionals that operate dialysis machines, which are necessary for patients experiencing kidney failure.  The most important tasks in the dialysis technician job description are to monitor and adjust fluid removal rate according to patient vital signs and to minimize the possibility of infection through proper equipment handling and sterilization.

What is dialysis-

Dialysis is a procedure that is followed to remove waste, salt, and extra water from the body whose kidneys are failing and are malfunctioning. The procedure of cleaning toxins from the patient’s body is known as the dialysis procedure. This process is involved with the use of machines that are administered under the specialist known as a Dialysis Technician.   • Monitoring the vascular access of the patient
  • Taking good and efficient care of the patient
  • The maintenance of dialysis equipment

  • Preparing the patient for the dialysis treatment process
  • Sanitizing and cleaning the machine are the dialysis treatment has taken place
  • Sanitizing and cleaning the surrounding area of the machine before the dialysis treatment can take place, so that the patient does not get infected
